Supernova in M51. Image on the left was taken on May 4th and the image on the right was taken on July 18th, 2005. Line points to the supernova in the spiral arm just below nucleus of galaxy. Both pictures taken with Canon Digital Rebel 800 ISO 60" second shot, prime focus on Konus K-1793.
